Camcast Inc. has started selling a super compact H.264 high-definition encoder with a built-in lithium-ion battery. It can stream high-definition video to Ustream and Nico Nico Live, as well as for professional internet live broadcasting for video production, broadcasting, and sports events.

Camcast 7 Inc. (Location: Nishi Ward, Osaka City, CEO: Shinichi Nishioka, hereinafter referred to as Camcast 7), which provides internet live streaming services and sells related equipment, will launch a new model of the low-cost H.264 high-definition encoder "CUBE(R)" that has achieved overwhelming miniaturization, roughly the size of a deck of cards, with a built-in lithium-ion battery, starting from July 11.
CUBE is a product that can transmit live video over the internet, receive it with a dedicated decoder, and display it on large screens, or send video from the CUBE encoder to platforms such as Ustream, Nico Nico Douga, Adobe Flash Media Server, and Wowza Media Server to distribute high-definition live video. The newly added model of CUBE features a built-in lithium-ion battery, an organic EL display for setting changes and status checks, enhanced wireless LAN communication capabilities using MiMO, and a recording function to a microSD card. The price is open, with an expected retail price of approximately 230,000 to 320,000 yen.
