Announcement of the Japanese release of the next-generation plant control system UCS (Nyx)
UCS is a next-generation control system architecture proposed by SUPCON, characterized by software-defined, fully digital, and cloud-native intelligent control systems. It was introduced in Singapore in June 2024, and "UCS Nyx" was launched for the Japanese market.
Nyx consists of a control data center, fiber optic TSN industrial networks, and Ethernet APL intelligent devices, achieving space-saving, reduced wiring costs, and shortened engineering time compared to traditional DCS. It also enables remote engineering by leveraging AI and cloud-native features.
Key Features:
- Software-centric system utilizing high-speed processors
- Large-capacity and high-speed transmission via fiber optic communication
- Enhanced intelligence of field sensors and compliance with explosion-proof areas
- Remote monitoring and engineering through a control data center equipped with server functions
- Remote control monitoring using VR
- Supports up to 20 million I/O and the fastest control cycle of 1 msec
- Tuning, programming, and digital twin support powered by AI
