The North American optical transport equipment market grew by 24% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2025, with demand for data center interconnection (DCI) increasing by over 40%. Spending on DWDM systems also expanded again, with Nokia experiencing a 54% growth due to the impact of its acquisition of Infinera. While North America, the Middle East and Africa, and India recorded double-digit growth, China, Europe, Japan, and Latin America saw declines. Additionally, total WDM revenue in the first quarter of 2025 remained on par with the previous year.
