Unraveling the inseparable relationship between semiconductors and ball screws.

Against the backdrop of increasing demand for AI and high-speed computing, the semiconductor industry is focusing on **silicon photonics (SiPh) technology**. The Silicon Photonics Industry Association (SiPhIA) of the Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI) has engaged over 100 companies based in Taiwan, creating one of the largest platforms in the world.
To accelerate standardization and technological innovation, three technology project groups (SIGs) have been established: "Systems," "Packaging and Testing," and "Automation."
NTT is miniaturizing modules with its "PEC" architecture, while Ansys is reducing design risks through simulation. ficonTEC and Nissho Suruga Seiki are addressing the challenges of automation and high-precision packaging, respectively. LightCounting points out that CPO technology is the only solution for AI systems.
SEMI aims to connect the global supply chain and position Taiwan in a leading role in a market projected to reach $7.86 billion by 2030.
