Mikuni Corporation and Future Artisan Co., Ltd. have begun verification of "product CO₂ labeling" towards the realization of a decarbonized society.

The automotive industry consumes a significant amount of energy in the manufacturing processes of each individual component and is considered one of the major sources of CO₂ emissions overall. In particular, the environmental impact of the manufacturing processes for automotive parts—such as casting, machining, heat treatment, and assembly—greatly affects the carbon footprint of the entire vehicle.
In addition to this situation, there is an international trend, especially in Europe, where regulations like the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) are making the "visualization" of CO₂ emissions across the entire supply chain an essential requirement. This movement is not limited to Europe; similar demands have already begun to be placed on Japanese companies, and it is expected to increase in the future.
In light of these circumstances, Mikuni and Future Artisan have jointly started calculating and displaying CO₂ emissions in the manufacturing process, advancing the "visualization" of environmental impact.
