Nihon Highcom, in collaboration with Ikegai Metal Co., Ltd., developed and commercialized a drying furnace and drying system for precision casting molds using microwaves three years ago. Last year, it was delivered to a major domestic precision casting company, and this year it will be supplied to other major domestic companies.
This attempt to apply microwave technology to the drying process of precision casting molds is not the first; many attempts have been made in the past. However, none have reached practical application. This microwave drying furnace and drying system combine microwave technology with conventional mold drying techniques, representing a next-generation drying method.
