Notice of color change for blue polyurethane tubes manufactured by Runko Co., Ltd.

The blue color tone of the urethane tubes manufactured by Junkosha will be changed.
Affected products:
UF series (water-resistant soft polyurethane tubes and polyurethane tubes for barb fittings) and UFL series (low-friction polyurethane tubes), totaling three items.
Manufacturer's shipping changeover period:
From early March 2014 onwards.
Note: Due to the circumstances of the trading company's inventory, the changeover period may vary. Thank you for your understanding. Additionally, we will be careful to avoid mixed shipments of old and new products when orders are received.
Reason for the change:
In the risk assessment review meeting regarding the prevention of health hazards to workers caused by chemical substances for the fiscal year 2012, "cobalt and its inorganic compounds" were evaluated as having carcinogenic risks. Following this evaluation result, revisions to the Labor Safety and Health Act enforcement order, Labor Safety and Health Regulations, and Specific Chemical Substance Hazard Prevention Regulations were made effective January 1, 2013, classifying "cobalt and inorganic compounds" as Category 2 substances and specially controlled substances for specific chemical substances management.
In response to the change in risk assessment regarding "cobalt and inorganic compounds," Junkosha will promote the discontinuation of the use of "cobalt-based pigments."
