Precision viscosity measurement for deep-sea drilling under ultra-high pressure.

In offshore oil wells, as deep drilling operations increasingly develop, precise viscosity measurements using minute sample fluids hold extremely important significance. The CVI VISCOlab PVT+ is a device capable of measuring viscosity even under high pressure with fluid and gas phases. Measurements can be conducted at a maximum of 138 MPa under normal conditions, or up to 207 MPa as an option, and can be performed not only in a static state but also while the fluid is continuously flowing. The measurement methods comply with ASTM D445 and D7483, requiring only a sample volume of 6 ml. It accommodates various applications such as viscosity measurement under high pressure, petroleum-related investigations, EOR, core analysis, and supercritical fluid development.
