Sales started in March 2014: Topcon Technohouse's successor to the handheld luminance meter 'BM-9A'

Topcon Technohouse Co., Ltd. has developed the "BM-9A," a successor to the handheld luminance meter "BM-9," significantly improving luminance accuracy and measurement range. Sales will begin in March 2014.
The luminance measurement range has been expanded from the previous model's 0.01 to 19,990,000 cd/m² to 0.01 to 28,000,000 cd/m², and the luminance accuracy guarantee has been improved from ±4% to ±2%. As with the previous model, three types of measurement angle light receiving heads (2°, 1°, 0.2°) can be selected and exchanged. It also comes standard with USB communication and analog signal output functions, and a new zero correction function without a cap has been added, making it even more suitable for embedded applications as a "luminance sensor" in customer production processes and various industrial devices.
By connecting an oscilloscope or similar device to the analog signal output, it is possible to measure response and flicker light. Additionally, it can be powered by AA batteries, allowing for the measurement of reflected luminance on floors and the luminance evaluation of guiding blocks for visually impaired individuals outdoors. Furthermore, measurement data collection via PC using the standard application software MT-100 is also possible.
