The LTC6909 also includes a Spectrum Spread Frequency Modulation (SSFM) feature, which is a technique for modulating the clock frequency with a pseudo-random signal. SSFM can be easily enabled and provides a method to reduce peak electromagnetic radiation. The amount of frequency spreading is fixed at ±10% of the center frequency, and the user can select one of three modulation rates.
