Developed the world's smallest class "tactile switch" for smartphones and wearable devices - Contributing to miniaturization, thinness, and high functionality of devices.

Citizen Electronics Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi Prefecture, President: Kanetaka Sekiguchi) has developed a surface mount tactile switch (a switch that provides a click feel when pressed) that achieves one of the world's smallest sizes for smartphones and wearable devices. Sample shipments will begin in late October, with mass production scheduled to start in April 2021.
*As of October 2020, based on our research for top-press type tactile switches.
■ Main Features
1. Approximately 20% downsizing (volume ratio) compared to our conventional products, achieving one of the world's smallest sizes.
Further miniaturization has been realized through improved processing precision of the components that make up the switch and enhanced assembly accuracy.
New product LS165: Width 2.6 mm × Length 1.4 mm × Height 0.55 mm
Conventional product LS160: Width 2.8 mm × Length 1.6 mm × Height 0.55 mm
2. High dust and water resistance
By sealing the spring contact part, high dust and water resistance (equivalent to IP67) is ensured.
3. Structure resistant to lateral forces
By integrating the actuator within the product, strength against external forces from the side is improved.
