Basotect is a soft foam made from melamine resin. Due to the properties of melamine resin and its dense cell structure, it possesses characteristics that have not been achieved by conventional foams and has excellent flame retardancy. Features 1. Lightweight: Very lightweight with a density of 6–9 kg/m³. 2. Flame Retardancy: Passes UL94 V-0, HF-1; compliant with A-A style 40mm flame retardancy for railway vehicle materials; passes FMVSS302. 3. Insulation and Sound Absorption: Has insulation and sound absorption properties due to its fine cell structure. 4. Heat Resistance: Maximum temperature of 240°C, safe usage temperature of 150°C. 5. Water Absorption: Excellent water absorption due to its fine cell structure. Water-repellent grades are also available. It is widely known as a cleaning sponge made from melamine foam.
