The heat resistance, which is a characteristic of mica! By using it as a filler, it is possible to enhance the physical properties against heat! It is also gaining attention as a non-combustible filler.
Heat Resistance
Utilizing its heat-resistant properties to improve the heat resistance of products. Additionally, it is advantageous that no changes in physical properties occur even under high temperatures during molding.
Mica has different physical properties against heat between phlogopite and muscovite; however, both possess strong heat-resistant properties.
【Phlogopite】
- Melting Point: 1500°C
- Dehydration Start Temperature: 800°C
【Muscovite】
- Melting Point: 1200°C
- Dehydration Start Temperature: 350°C
As shown above, phlogopite has even stronger heat-resistant properties.
Furthermore, it is also gaining attention as a non-combustible filler. Mica has a high aspect ratio and a high barrier effect. By using it as a filler, the non-combustible effect is created, which can enhance the fire resistance of paints and resins.
Additionally, there are specially processed micas designed to enhance heat resistance. Please feel free to contact us.
