It is possible to non-contact measure the gloss of inspection objects that are continuously produced in sheet form online (in-line).
It is possible to measure the surface gloss of continuously produced sheets and plates made of paper, fabric, resin sheets, films, steel plates, etc., online and non-contact during the production process (in compliance with JIS standards). By measuring the surface gloss of inspection targets produced continuously in sheet form without contact, it allows for continuous monitoring and recording of the process from the beginning to the end of the roll without damaging the products. This enables prompt responses in case of any issues during the production process and helps reduce the occurrence of defective products. Additionally, if gloss management is desired in the width direction for the inspection targets, it is possible to monitor up to three detection units with a single PC.

basic information
● Calibration is as simple as pressing a button and turning a dial. With the "Calibration ⇔ Measurement" automatic switching optical system, there is no need for the cumbersome attachment and detachment of calibration standard plates (only for model GR-4). ● Long-term stability has been further improved. The newly developed F-type double beam method enhances long-term stability even more (maximum fluctuation within 0.3% over 24 hours "standard plate"). ● High-level compliance with domestic and international standards. ISO, JIS, ASTM, DIN, TAPPI. ● Notification via alarm signal. It is possible to extract the detection signal and use it as a control signal for the regulator that adjusts the gloss of the product (optional).

Applications/Examples of results
●Management of Gloss for Aesthetic Purposes - Gloss management on production lines for materials such as paper, fabric, resin sheets, films, rubber, and steel plates. ●Management of Gloss for Functional Purposes - Low gloss management to prevent glare issues for materials used in car dashboards. - Gloss management for exterior wall materials of buildings to minimize dirt adhesion. ●Evaluating Other Properties Based on Changes in Gloss - Evaluating stains, dirt, rust, wear resistance, etc. - Managing the roughness of matte finishes achieved through sandblasting, etc. - Managing the application amount of latex. - Managing the application of magnetic tape, sandpaper, adhesive tape, etc.

In 1947, a color research group was established in a corner of Tsukishima, Tokyo, which later became the Color Division of Japan Electronic Measuring Instruments Co., Ltd. The group focused primarily on the production of standard color samples and research and guidance on color adjustment. In November 1956, it became independent and was established as Murakami Color Technology Research Institute, Inc. Since its founding, our company has made the production of measuring instruments related to visual information processing, including "color and gloss," the production of color samples, and the promotion of color management the pillars of our business, and we have been active as a pioneer in the industry. Our market share is extremely high. We will continue to make further efforts for the development of color science and the creation of a prosperous society, and we hope to be of service to everyone.
