In 1990, one of the two factories of a watch manufacturer in the United States (Silicon Valley) and one factory in Japan transferred their business rights to Kobe Steel, Ltd., changing the company name to Kobelco Automatec Co., Ltd. They began to expand their work beyond automatic machines and robotic systems to focus more on semiconductor manufacturing lines. In 1993, they became independent from Kobe Steel, Ltd. (KOBELCO) and utilized their experience in the United States to engage in a wider range of activities, including automatic machines, robotic systems, cam mechanism assembly machines, watches, watch bands, semiconductor-related equipment, transport machinery, welding jigs, mass production jigs, precision machinery, radiation and radiation shielding, Ge semiconductor detectors, labor-saving machines and equipment, residual radiation measuring devices, press molds and peripheral devices. Additionally, they established a small design office that now also works on food machinery and filling machines, primarily in Chiba Prefecture, Tokyo, Saitama Prefecture, Ibaraki Prefecture, and Kanagawa Prefecture.
