With simple operations, it allows for quick assessment of the impact of changes to the board's structure and component layout. By incorporating thermal design considerations into the initial floor plan, it contributes to improving the quality of circuit and PCB design.

Even busy designers can obtain the desired analysis results with minimal setup, thanks to the thoughtful usability features. This makes it easier to incorporate thermal design into the development cycle, significantly reducing time and cost losses due to design revisions, as well as improving product reliability. Additionally, the fully automated meshing eliminates the need for mesh creation, allowing designers to focus on their core design tasks. Using the IDF format, not only can the shapes, positional information, and thermal resistances (θjc, θjb) of components be imported into Flotherm PCB in bulk, but in CSV format, it is also possible to read in just the heat generation values. Furthermore, there is an export function available in both IDF and CSV formats. By using the filter function, shapes that do not affect the analysis are omitted, which shortens the analysis time. The total heat generation value of the omitted components is uniformly applied across the entire printed circuit board, ensuring that there is no change in total heat generation due to component omission. Through the D I/F with Expedition, CR5000 BD, and Allegro PCB, the native data from the board CAD can be imported all at once, including board outline, layer configuration, wiring patterns, component outlines, and heat generation values.
