Each of the three distribution jacks has a switch that is not affected by power noise. It is a switcher for connecting three devices to one telephone line. The switch has three selections: 'TEL1', 'TEL2', and 'TEL3', which slide horizontally. The NT-870 does not have a selection like 'TEL1+TEL2+TEL3' as found in the NT-810. When the switch is set to TEL1, it allows communication with the device connected to TEL1; when set to TEL2, it allows communication with the device connected to TEL2; and when set to TEL3, it allows communication with the device connected to TEL3.
