Metal spring for bevel-shaped shafts
This retaining ring has a 15° slope on the part that enters the groove (the retaining ring for holes has the slope on the outer circumference, while the retaining ring for shafts has it on the inner circumference). The groove where the retaining ring fits is also sloped at 15°. This retaining ring's spring action acts as a wedge to eliminate the clearance between it and the adjacent surfaces of the retaining components.
