Safety of Ozone Water The half-life of ozone water is very short, ranging from 10 to 60 minutes at 20°C to 25°C under normal pressure, and it easily decomposes upon contact with surrounding organic matter, resulting in no residual effects. In the case of hypochlorous acid, there is a lingering chlorine smell, and it reacts with organic matter in tap water to produce carcinogenic substances such as trihalomethanes.
