For shortening development time and costs! Simulation software
The software package "gFUELCELL," based on our general-purpose mathematical modeling CAE software "gPROMS," is specialized for performance analysis and design optimization of fuel cells. In response to the demands of more customers, we have enhanced the functionality of the model library and revamped the user interface from the conventional AML:FC (Advanced Model Library for Fuel Cells). ■ Capable of building cell models that reflect experimental data ■ Precise handling of condensate in PEMFC ■ Analysis of dynamic behavior and performance of fuel cell systems considering degradation analysis ■ Risk management ■ Reduction of development costs for fuel cell development ■ Shortening of development time

basic information
The purposes and benefits of process modeling in fuel cell development are diverse and can be understood from the following perspectives: 1. Understanding electrochemical phenomena 2. Exploring optimal gas channel patterns 3. Screening battery materials 4. Analyzing stack heat dissipation performance 5. Considering heat recovery methods 6. Fuel reforming 7. Setting optimal operating conditions 8. Developing electrode catalysts 9. Water balance 10. Designing control systems 11. Examining fuel cell systems 12. Analyzing catalyst performance degradation 13. Investigating dynamic characteristics such as startup 14. Analyzing stack lifespan This software allows for the aggregation and verification of tests obtained from various tests for laboratory trials and technical evaluations based on the results of fundamental research into a "mathematical model," leading to stack design as a practical product, acceleration of development speed, and improvement of accuracy. Currently, in a situation where fuel cell development is accelerating towards improvements and new practical applications, process modeling has become an essential analytical tool as a systematic approach to efficiently connect the results of fundamental research to product development and design, enabling the rapid market introduction of new products.

Company information
Founded in 1997 by the gPROMS development team at Imperial College London, PSE became part of the Siemens Group in 2019 and has been providing products and services in Japan as Siemens Corporation since 2023. gPROMS features a powerful equation-based computation engine that differs from traditional simulators, allowing for seamless handling of both steady-state and dynamic simulations. This enables the effective scaling up of models adjusted with experimental data from batch processing for the design and operational optimization of continuous processing plants. With gPROMS's excellent capabilities in custom modeling, parameter estimation, and optimization, it is possible to quickly build optimal manufacturing processes, resolve issues, and achieve optimization.
