To prevent backflow from rivers into drainage ditches during water discharge, various gates are installed at the drainage outlets. Among these, it is common for small drainage outlets to have flap gates that open and close automatically based on the difference in water levels inside and outside. In this case, although the gate itself is quite small, the construction involves significant additional work, such as pouring the necessary concrete for installation, sometimes creating temporary closures, and using drainage pumps. Our company has focused on this aspect and developed the Daiwa-style automatic drainage device, known as the Hume Wrap, which can be installed simply by fitting it onto the end of a Hume pipe and tightening bolts, significantly reducing construction costs and achieving thorough rationalization.
