Cost reduction cannot be achieved with molds that have deteriorated in precision.
In the field of plastic injection molding, the quality of the mold is equal to the quality of productivity. Generally, the lifespan of a mold is referred to as being between 300,000 to 400,000 shots. Once that is exceeded, it is considered to be almost at the end of its lifespan, and in the past, new molds were created to address this. However, due to the pressure for cost reduction in the current borderless production environment, there is often not enough room to create new molds just because the accuracy of the existing ones has deteriorated.
