Demonstration of measuring biological responses during the viewing of 3D video experiences at Nagoya University.
Simultaneous measurement of crystalline lens accommodation and convergence focus during 3D image viewing.
One of the main causes of eye strain during 3D video viewing is identified as the "inconsistency between the accommodation distance of the lens and the convergence focal distance." However, in our past research involving young subjects, it was found that the accommodation distance of the lens and the binocular convergence focal distance change synchronously during 3D viewing, just as they do during natural vision. In this presentation, we will demonstrate the simultaneous measurement of the accommodation distance of the lens and the binocular convergence focal distance during actual 3D video viewing, clarifying that they change synchronously. Additionally, the 3D video will use the trademark Power 3D(TM) from Olympus Visual Communications, Inc.

basic information
**Features** ○ The ideal subjects are those under 40 years old with normal vision (not myopic, hyperopic, or astigmatic).: A. Those who can perceive 3D images (about 10% may find it difficult). B. Individuals with mild myopia or mild hyperopia who do not have severe astigmatism can participate in the measurement if they wear soft contact lenses. (We have prepared some lenses to a certain extent.) C. Even those aged 40-50 may be able to participate in the measurement if they have good accommodative ability. ○ We will obtain your signature for informed consent.: You can withdraw from the measurement experiment at any time. Additionally, we will use data without names in the future. ○ Middle-aged and older individuals can perceive 3D even though their lens accommodation may not keep up.: Not only 3D but also real objects, middle-aged and older individuals recognize depth through convergence (there are also other depth cues such as motion parallax and perspective). ● For more details, please contact us or refer to the catalog.

With the development of the information society, "information" has now become an important element that constitutes human society alongside material and energy. In this graduate school, we capture "information" from various perspectives such as engineering, natural sciences, computer science, humanities, social sciences, cognitive sciences, and life sciences, aiming to systematize "information" as an academic discipline and create new fields through the fusion of these domains. Our educational objective is to cultivate deep knowledge and exceptional abilities required for professions that demand high levels of expertise, through education and research on both the theory and application of information science, thereby contributing to the advancement of culture and training researchers, highly specialized technicians, and educators in information science. Additionally, our basic policy is not only to develop the ability to conduct cutting-edge research in information science but also to nurture individuals who understand the characteristics of society and culture and possess a social ethical perspective, engaging in comprehensive educational and research activities that incorporate various new initiatives.
