By simultaneously conducting thermogravimetric analysis and differential thermal analysis, it is possible to measure the heat absorption and release behavior during decomposition, as well as to determine the glass transition temperature and melting point.
TG (Thermogravimetry) is a technique that measures the mass of a substance as a function of temperature while changing the temperature according to a controlled program. DTA (Differential Thermal Analysis) is a technique that measures the temperature difference between a substance and a reference material as a function of temperature while changing the temperatures of both according to a controlled program. TG-DTA performs these two measurements simultaneously, allowing for the observation of endothermic and exothermic behavior during decomposition, as well as determining glass transition temperatures and melting points.
