Melt viscosity (shear rate dependence), melt tension, swell ratio
This is a test to measure the physical properties of molten polymer materials as they flow through a capillary, including shear rate, viscosity, and shear stress. Generally, when polymers are measured at a constant temperature, the viscosity decreases as the shear rate increases. Therefore, it is necessary to specify the shear rate when comparing viscosities. Additionally, this testing machine can also measure die swell (Barus effect) and melt strength.
