This is an algae control device for industrial water that utilizes "silver ions," which have excellent algae-killing effects. Due to its high algicidal properties and safety, it is particularly used in water features such as ornamental ponds and fountains, where people are in close proximity. The most notable feature of copper ion algae control is its residual effectiveness in water. For example, even if the distance from the water supply inlet to the discharge outlet is long, or if there is a waterfall in between, copper ions do not volatilize, allowing for effective algae control throughout the water feature. Of course, copper, which is also a food additive, is highly safe and poses no problem if touched or ingested by humans. In addition to its algicidal effects, copper ions also have antibacterial properties, making them useful from a hygienic perspective in water treatment. Furthermore, in recent years, there has been an increase in initiatives to use copper ions instead of chemicals for algae control in industrial water systems such as cooling towers as part of ISO compliance efforts. Excessive use of high concentrations of copper ions can lead to the precipitation of verdigris, so we will set the handling methods for each facility based on water quality analysis and controller management.

basic information
Aeon Japan helps achieve hygienic and safe pool water using copper ion algae control technology, which is more sanitary than traditional chlorine-based disinfection alone. Algae that grow in ponds and pools are a troublesome issue, as they not only detract from aesthetics but can also be a source of unpleasant odors and can damage equipment by degrading the efficiency of circulation systems. In the case of public swimming pools, maintaining a residual chlorine concentration is fundamental for disinfection and algae control, but actual management does not seem to be an easy task. The guideline concentration for stable residual chlorine management is set at 1 ppm. Concentrations higher than 1 ppm can lead to issues such as "unpleasant chlorine odor for swimmers" and "skin irritation due to excessive oxidation capacity." Conversely, lower concentrations may not be sufficient for effective disinfection and algae control. Copper ions and silver ions can be used in conjunction with chlorine agents. Therefore, they can supplement the disinfection and algae control effects that are difficult to achieve with chlorine agents alone, or reduce the amount of chlorine used. Of course, copper ions alone also possess sufficient disinfection and algae control effects, but we ask that they be used within the limits set by regulations, in accordance with our commitment to compliance.

Company information
Water covers about 70% of the Earth's surface. Safe and beautiful water sustains all life and protects the Earth's environment. Japan Ion Co., Ltd. was the first in Japan to focus on the antibacterial effects of silver ions in 1954 and launched a silver ion sterilization device that is friendly to both people and the Earth. Since then, we have researched and developed various applications for metal ions and, as the only specialized manufacturer in Japan, have been pioneering the commercialization of technologies that contribute to improving your living environment ahead of other companies. Additionally, based on our extensive experience, we also provide commercialization solutions to companies considering the use of silver and copper ions. With the know-how we have cultivated over many years, our industry-leading track record, and an unwavering pioneering spirit, we will continue to provide technologies that are gentle to the Earth and protect people and the environment.
