basic information
There are two types of measurement methods: contact and non-contact. The contact method involves measuring points by touching the product with the tip of the measuring device (probe), while the non-contact method scans the product surface using a laser beam emitted from the tip. Additionally, being portable is another feature, allowing measurements to be taken anywhere as long as there is a reference plane (such as a flat plate). The measured data is imported into measurement analysis software on a connected computer, converting points and surfaces into data. The analysis software can represent the degree of error compared to design data (CAD data) in numerical values or color maps.
