The surface preparation for the repair area involves the general removal of rust and debris, thorough sanding of the repair area, degreasing, and cleaning, followed by drying. Then, the mixed U-Metal standard type should be applied by rubbing it onto the repair area, and finally, it should be applied on top as well to complete the process. Initial curing begins 50 minutes after mixing (at room temperature), and complete curing occurs after 18 hours. After complete curing, machining can also be performed. If waiting for complete curing is not feasible, using a hairdryer or applying warm air can shorten the curing time. Recoating is possible regardless of whether it is before or after curing. The U-Metal drinking water type (dw type) cures through a chemical reaction, so the best condition for curing is when the thickness of the mixed U-Metal is around 5mm. Conversely, if you want to delay curing, spreading it thinly will help. Pre-cooling the base agent can further slow down the curing time. The ability to flexibly manage curing time when the repair area is complex and requires sufficient repair work is a unique feature of cold welding agents.
