The heat flow sensor is a mechanism that measures the temperature difference occurring on both sides of a plate-shaped thermal resistance placed across the flow of heat. It measures the conductive heat that travels in a direction perpendicular to the surface inside the sensor. In the general-purpose heat flow sensor series, to avoid affecting the original heat flow, a thermopile is constructed by connecting numerous thermocouples in series on both sides of a thin plastic plate, allowing for heat flow measurement even when the temperature difference between the front and back is less than 0.001°C. Using a heat flow sensor enables more accurate measurements compared to traditional methods that determine heat flow values from the thermal conductivity of materials and temperature differences. It can be widely used as a standard sensor for measuring the distribution and total amount of heat transfer in structures such as experimental buildings, residences, and commercial buildings, as well as for the quantitative evaluation of thermal insulation performance in equipment and facilities for heat retention and cooling.
