The grid-connected type is a small wind turbine with a maximum output of 5 kW. It is connected to the commercial power grid, and when the wind turbine's output is low, electricity is purchased from the power company. The independent type is a small wind turbine with a maximum output of 3 kW. Its external shape is the same as the grid-connected type, but due to differences in the control method, the output is limited to 5 kW. A special design duct, commonly known as a wind lens, is its most significant feature. The vortex generated by the wind collection lens increases wind speed by 1.3 to 1.5 times. Since the power generation is proportional to the cube of the wind speed, the wind collection effect alone can achieve 2 to 3 times the power output. The blades are also about half the size of conventional wind turbines, which helps solve issues related to installation and transportation. Furthermore, the compact rotation area of the blades (sound source) and the structure of the wind collection body suppress the wingtip vortices that are noise sources, achieving excellent quietness.
