To accurately measure precipitation in cold environments, the MQT8K 6XBARC2 temperature power sensor from the 2Amp series is used for preventing freezing of sleet, snow, and equipment. By installing the MQT8K 6XBARC2 within the device and connecting it in series with the heater power line, the heater will activate when the temperature is between 8°C and 4°C (ensuring the heater is always ON at temperatures below 4°C) and will turn off at around 12°C.
