Automate the estimation of parameters such as reaction rates by freely inputting various mathematical model equations for chemical processes and comparing them with experimental results, making it possible to utilize for process optimization.
gPROMS ModelBuilder is a simulation platform software for supporting research and development, as well as equipment and plant design, which includes: - Process simulation (steady-state, dynamic) - Model validation (model parameter estimation) - Exploration of optimal experimental methods (design of experiments) - Optimization of operating methods and designs (static, dynamic optimization) - Plant automation (advanced control design and tuning) - Operator training (training simulator) It can be used for a variety of development support, analysis, and optimization considerations. By defining constants, variables, and equations using gPROMS Language and providing input values, model calculations can easily converge using the Initialization Procedure technology developed by PSE. After the initial calculation, it is possible to quickly recalculate by providing the automatically saved initial values.

basic information
Models created in gPROMS can be executed as "objects" in external software. For example, in CFD, writing complex phenomena using UDF (user-defined function) can be labor-intensive, and in the case of iterative solvers, achieving computational convergence can be challenging, making model validation difficult as well. However, with gPROMS' advanced modeling capabilities, it is possible to incorporate complex catalytic reaction and crystal growth models into CFD, enabling large-scale simulations. - gO:CFD (Coupling with CFD such as Fluent, STAR-CD, etc.) - gO:Run (gPROMS runtime module) - gO:MATLAB (Executing gPROMS models within MATLAB) - gO:Simulink (Design and examination of control systems using Simulink) - gO:CAPE-OPEN (Porting models to platforms like Aspen, PRO-II, etc.)

Company information
Founded in 1997 by the gPROMS development team at Imperial College London, PSE became part of the Siemens Group in 2019 and has been providing products and services in Japan as Siemens Corporation since 2023. gPROMS features a powerful equation-based computation engine that differs from traditional simulators, allowing for seamless handling of both steady-state and dynamic simulations. This enables the effective scaling up of models adjusted with experimental data from batch processing for the design and operational optimization of continuous processing plants. With gPROMS's excellent capabilities in custom modeling, parameter estimation, and optimization, it is possible to quickly build optimal manufacturing processes, resolve issues, and achieve optimization.
