The solar cell evaluation device is a device that can measure the characteristics of individual solar cells without destroying the solar cell module in a non-contact manner. Traditionally, the evaluation of solar cells was conducted by irradiating the solar cells with simulated sunlight (solar simulator) and measuring the electrical characteristics produced. While this method allows for understanding the characteristics of the entire solar cell module, it does not provide information on the characteristics of each cell that makes up the module. This device utilizes the electroluminescence (EL) effect of semiconductors, enabling the high-speed measurement of electrical characteristics for each cell.
