We will conduct thermal airflow simulations in the basic design phase plan.
In recent years, there have been many cases where natural ventilation utilizing outside air is actively incorporated during intermediate periods. Among these, a ventilation method that uses shafts installed within the building as exhaust and supply air systems has been considered from the basic design stage to efficiently carry out natural ventilation. The selection of appropriate locations and sizes for supply and exhaust openings is extremely important, and conducting thermal airflow simulations can provide insights into the overall operation of the building. In this analysis, we assumed windy conditions and performed thermal airflow simulations based on the plans at the basic design stage. For more details, please download the catalog.

【Analysis Model and Conditions】 ○ Detailed modeling of the internal space of a building measuring 48.0m × 24.0m and 16.0m high (equivalent to 4 floors) ○ Number of grids: 196 × 121 × 83 = 1,968,428 ○ Air supply vents are installed on three exterior walls of each floor from the 1st to the 4th floor ○ The shafts to the outdoor exhaust vents have a height of one floor above the two shafts, with grilles installed on three sides similar to the air supply vents ○ Exhaust vents from the indoor space to the shafts have transom openings installed on three sides of the shafts from the 1st to the 4th floor ○ Indoor thermal loads consider internal heat generation from humans, equipment, etc., as well as flow-through loads and solar radiation loads ○ External wind is set at a wind direction of 45 degrees to the long side of the building, with a wind speed of 3.5 m/sec 【Analysis Results】 ○ A similar temperature distribution is observed from the 1st to the 4th floor, with the highest temperature on the 4th floor ○ Airflow from the air supply vents and convection from indoor thermal loads generate airflow on each floor, but efficient ventilation is lacking ○ The results of this analysis demonstrate that the position and size of the air supply and exhaust vents are not appropriate → In the next step, it is necessary to examine the position and size of the air supply and exhaust vents, including the opening ratio of each opening ● For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.
