To reduce air conditioning load, natural ventilation that actively circulates outside air into the building is effective. Recently, incorporating structures such as eco voids and eco shafts into the basic design stage has gained attention for efficient natural ventilation. At that time, the size of the openings for bringing in outside air and their installation positions must be appropriate. In this analysis, we conducted ventilation analysis to examine the relationship between opening conditions and ventilation status. 【Analysis Model and Conditions】 - Multiple openings for air supply (width 1.0m, height 0.2m) are installed on the exterior walls of each floor from the 2nd to the 7th floor of the building. - A skylight for exhaust is installed in the building's penthouse. - The interior walls of the building replicate transom openings. - The thermal load on the model considers heat generation from the human body and equipment, heat transfer, and solar radiation conditions. - The dimensions of the building are 32.0m (length) × 24.0m (width), height 32.0m (equivalent to 7 floors), with a total of 145 × 114 × 156 = 2,578,680 grid points. 【Analysis Results】 - The thermal load from the 2nd to the 5th floor confirms that exhaust is possible due to the upward flow from the skylight. - The 6th and 7th floors are located above the middle section of the ventilation shaft, making it insufficient to adequately discharge the heat accumulated inside the building, resulting in backflow of exhaust from the openings provided on all sides. → The 6th and 7th floors require air conditioning using mechanical ventilation. ● For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.
