It is an optical sensor that can measure long distances non-contact.

The laser distance meter "LE200 Series" is a non-contact optical sensor capable of measuring long distances. The system consists of a sensor body made up of a visible red laser light source, a light receiving element, and electronic circuits for computation and interface, along with a reflector. The sensor emits a modulated laser beam, which is reflected by the reflector attached to the measurement target. The absolute distance to the measurement target is calculated from the phase difference of the transmitted and received laser beams. For more details, please download the catalog.
