CMT welding is very effective for ultra-thin sheets.
The CMT (Cold Metal Transfer) welding method involves the wire advancing while producing an arc (hot process) and simultaneously short-circuiting, causing the arc to extinguish (cold process). The wire is then forcibly cut and retracted. By performing this cycle at high speed in 14 ms, it significantly suppresses heat input and greatly reduces the explosive phenomenon of the molten pool, resulting in minimal spatter generation. This method is particularly effective for ultra-thin sheets of less than 1 mm. Due to its similarity to brazing, it is also an effective method for welding ultra-thin sheets with gaps or when there are concerns about melting. For more details, please contact us.
