We are helping to pursue next-generation vertebral bone cement.
A team of 20 functional materials scientists at the Faculty of Science and Technology at Uppsala University in Sweden is conducting various research on biomaterials and is currently focusing on bone cement research. Uppsala University has partnered with MTS to support bone cement research and has incorporated the MTS Model 858 Bionix tabletop axial servo hydraulic testing system into its functional materials science testing laboratory. By combining this system with the MTS Bionix EnviroBath environmental simulation system, it has become possible to apply various loads simultaneously to bone cement in a saline solution maintained at human body temperature. As a result, they successfully replicated the loads and conditions that the cement injected into a patient's body would ultimately experience after a long period post-surgery. Customers have stated that the introduction of the MTS Bionix testing solutions has allowed them to dedicate more time to focusing on new formulations without concerns about the performance of the testing system or the reliability of the test data. MTS Japan, Inc. is the Japanese subsidiary of the American engineering company MTS Systems Corporation, which specializes in various testing equipment. For over 40 years, we have provided engineering consulting services to users in Japan, delivering earthquake simulation systems, automotive durability testing systems, aircraft fatigue testing equipment, and various material testing devices to public institutions, universities, and private companies in our country. All of these systems play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of their operations and are indispensable when it comes to "manufacturing" products. MTS Japan, Inc. was established in June 1972 with a 50% investment from MTS Systems Corporation. In May 1975, it became a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, and in 1981, we established the Nagoya branch (now the West Japan branch) to strengthen our sales and support system, which continues to this day. Through collaboration with MTS, we achieve optimization of design, improvement of productivity, and reduction of time to market for our customers' products.
