HARIO's heat-resistant glass has been produced since 1972 in a "smokeless factory." This was made possible by the successful development of Japan's first direct electric melting furnace for glass, a unique technology that melts glass raw materials using electricity instead of heavy oil. This changed the common perception of glass factories at the time, which were known for severe smoke and dust pollution, and created a workplace environment that took into consideration both the surrounding environment and the employees working inside the factory.

Applications/Examples of results

There is a long history of use in national public offices, research institutes, schools, and manufacturing companies. When heating, please avoid local overheating. When heating substances with low boiling points or flammable materials, please use a water bath. When handling heated glass, always use heat-resistant gloves or specialized tongs to prevent burns. When used under reduced pressure for chemical reaction tests or reduced pressure distillation tests, round-bottom flasks, pear-shaped flasks, and Kjeldahl flasks are commonly used. However, please check for any "scratches," "distortions," or "uneven thickness" before use. Avoid using flat-bottomed flasks or triangular flasks, as their structural strength is weak.
