Support for the development of the world's first commercial full-scale rolling road.
The MTS Flat-Trac® rolling road is 10.5 feet (3.2 meters) wide and 29.5 feet (8.9 meters) long. It easily maintains the same speed as the wind and accelerates from zero to 180 miles per hour (289.6 kilometers) in under a minute. This "road" is actually a seamless stainless steel belt that is 1 millimeter thick. During testing, sensors on the belt accurately measure the downforce of each tire. Advanced software enables high-precision and robust vehicle performance evaluation. It includes sophisticated control and data collection capabilities, providing unprecedented insights into the performance of race vehicles. Testing is conducted without the boundary layer common to fixed wind tunnels that limit the consistency of test data for low-profile vehicles. MTS Japan, Inc. is the Japanese subsidiary of the American engineering company MTS Systems Corporation, which specializes in various testing equipment. For over 40 years, we have provided engineering consulting services to users in Japan, delivering earthquake simulation systems, automotive durability testing systems, aircraft fatigue testing equipment, and various material testing devices to public institutions, universities, and private companies in our country. All of these systems play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of their operations and are indispensable when it comes to "manufacturing" products. MTS Japan, Inc. was established in June 1972 with a 50% investment from MTS Systems Corporation. In May 1975, it became a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, and in 1981, we established the Nagoya branch (now the West Japan branch) to strengthen our sales and support system, which continues to this day. Through collaboration with MTS, we achieve optimization of design, improvement of productivity, and reduction of time to market for our customers' products.
