A flexible production system is an important factor in developing new markets. Production using highly customized equipment, tailored to customer needs and strategies, is a key element. One of the solutions proposed by Ingramatic is the screw rolling center, which is designed for high flexibility and aims to provide agile production equipment that meets diverse market demands with a single production unit. It can be applied to screw rolling on blanks after heat treatment, as well as the production of (grooved) special blanks and stud bolts. To accommodate these various products, Ingramatic has equipped the system with different loading systems to enable shared production of standard bolts and stud bolts with a single machine. The machine features a vibration feeder for standard bolts and a tube-type supply system dedicated to feeding stud bolt blanks, along with guide rails that cater to both types.

This screw rolling center features a proven proprietary feeding system that is effective for stud bolt production. The blanks are supplied to just before the starter finger via tube-based transport, and then the blanks are accurately fed to the processing section by a pneumatic feeding device. Two types of specifications can be adopted for precise blank orientation control. • The specification suitable for maximum productivity connects the screw rolling machine to a header, supplying forged blanks directly to the rolling machine via a transport tube. • The other specification utilizes a vertical or vibration feeding system according to the product length, along with mechanical control for orientation using image analysis with a digital camera, and a cutting supply system.

Applications/Examples of results
In a system using a digital camera, instantaneous direction checks can be performed when blanks pass on the conveyor, allowing for accurate control of the blank's orientation. Blanks that are not oriented correctly are corrected by a direction reversal device before tube insertion, enabling high productivity even if the rolling mill is not connected to the header, and allowing for even higher quality high-speed production in "P" type and "VP" type.
