A new coating agent that changes the surface of glass, stainless steel, and various plastic materials to a hydrophilic state.
This is a new hydrophilic coating agent that changes the surfaces of glass, stainless steel, and plastic materials to a hydrophilic state. Generally, even if a surface is made hydrophilic, it lacks durability; however, it is possible to achieve a durable hydrophilic state on surfaces such as acrylic (PMMA), polycarbonate (PC), and polyethylene terephthalate (PET).

basic information
Selface Coat is a coating agent that can exhibit superhydrophilicity through composite inorganic material technology. While photocatalytic technology is well-known for hydrophilic coatings, Selface Coat is developed to be easier to apply than photocatalysts and to demonstrate hydrophilic effects even in the absence of light. By making surfaces coated with Selface Coat more prone to wetting by water (in a state where water droplets do not form), it becomes possible to wash away oil stains and other contaminants with water. Additionally, since it does not form water droplets, it provides anti-fogging effects and enhances the affinity for moisture in the air, allowing for static electricity countermeasures (anti-static effects) to be incorporated as well.
