basic information
■Features - It is possible to print out the date, lot number, and measurement results on-site and submit them as documentation. - The average value, standard deviation, maximum value, minimum value, etc., of the measurement results can be easily calculated with simple operations. - To accommodate changes in the material, shape, and thickness of the substrate, it is possible to register and call up the optimal calibration curves for that substrate in four electromagnetic methods and four eddy current methods in advance. - The upper and lower limits of the target film thickness can be set. If a film thickness outside the set range is measured, a buzzer will sound, and a warning mark will be displayed on the display unit. - With a pencil-type single-point contact constant pressure probe, stable measurement values can be obtained regardless of the measurement location. - The tip of the measurement probe uses titanium coating for the electromagnetic method and industrial ruby for the eddy current method. ■Specifications Measurement Method: Eddy Current Type Measurement Target: Insulating coating on non-magnetic metals Measurement Range: 0 to 800μm or 32.00mils Measurement Accuracy: Less than 50μm: ±1μm, 50μm or more: ±2% Resolution: Less than 100μm: 0.1μm, 100μm or more: 1.0μm Probe: Single-point contact constant pressure type (LHP-J) Display Method: Digital (LCD, minimum display digit 0.1μm)

Applications/Examples of results
■What is the eddy current method? When a high-frequency current is passed through an induction coil and brought close to a metal, eddy currents are generated on the surface of the metal. These eddy currents change according to the distance between the induction coil and the metal surface, which in turn causes the voltage across the ends of the induction coil to vary. This change is read from the current value and converted into film thickness, resulting in an eddy current thickness gauge used for measuring insulating coatings on non-magnetic metals.
