The HD-1004 is a real-time personal dust monitor with a built-in microprocessor-controlled air sampling pump. It can store vast amounts of data and can also calculate measurement values on the screen. The non-fixed sensor is miniaturized, allowing it to be easily attached to the collar of clothing to measure the breathing zone. The sensor's utility is further enhanced by using an optional OSHA-defined breathing zone and chest area dust interchangeable sampling head. The inline 37mm filter cassette allows the device user to collect simultaneous filters based on air samples that correspond to the weight measurement method after the optical sensor. This unique built-in high-performance microprocessor mathematically corrects for size differences in fine particulate matter. The HD-1004 provides a comprehensive graph of time vs. dust concentration, enabling investigators to more accurately obtain advanced technology for clarifying and analyzing exposure to harmful fine particulate matter in the workplace. Traditional pump/filter weight measurements alone make it impossible to obtain real-time profiles of dust accumulation, but the addition of a miniaturized optical dust sensor allows for a more dynamic assessment that was previously unattainable.
