ExFact Analysis for Porous/Particles is software that analyzes and evaluates the three-dimensional structure and morphology of materials with many holes and voids when imaged using techniques such as X-ray CT. It is effective for assessing structures like particles or porous bodies, including pharmaceutical granules, biomaterials, and new materials. 【Applicable Fields】 In particular, it is applicable in areas such as petroleum, rubber, plastics, resins, polymers, methane hydrate, concrete/gravel, fuel cells, carbon nanotubes, paper, pulp fibers, ceramics, catalysts, bone, dental/medical materials, precision parts, electronics, and semiconductors.

basic information
Using imaging technologies such as X-ray CT, confocal laser microscopy, and TEM tomography to capture industrial products and materials allows for the continuous output of cross-sectional images, enabling the three-dimensional reconstruction of images. ExFact Analysis is software that utilizes a method called 3DMA (Medial Axis) to thin out these three-dimensional images and describe their complex structures, allowing for statistical evaluation and analysis of particle and void morphology and distribution, fiber orientation, and more from various perspectives. Overview of the process: 1) The void areas are thinned out and displayed in different colors based on their thickness. This visualizes the network structure of the voids and makes it easier to grasp trends. 2) The void areas are divided by constricted sections for quantitative analysis. Specifically, it calculates the distribution of the cross-sectional area of the divided sections (referred to as throats) and the distribution of the volume of the divided voids (referred to as pores), as well as the coordination number as an indicator of the network structure between voids. *For more details, please download the catalog or contact us.
