Many of the social infrastructures such as roads, tunnels, bridge piers, railways, water supply and sewage systems, and ports, which were intensively developed after the period of rapid economic growth, will reach over 50 years since their construction around 2030. There are concerns about the aging of social infrastructure. Additionally, due to the declining birthrate and aging population, Japan is facing a decrease in its population, leading to challenges such as labor shortages and worsening fiscal conditions. As a result, there is a growing demand for establishing a maintenance cycle for future social infrastructure, with increasing needs for "inspection," "diagnosis," "repair," and "renewal."
