The cherry blossom seal for O-rings is molded in a variety of materials, including VMQ-70 (Type C / silicone rubber), and comes in a wide range of sizes.
The material is made of silicone rubber, which excels in heat resistance, cold resistance, and weather resistance, but has inferior oil resistance and physical properties. Before JIS B2401:2012 defined VMQ-70, it was referred to as Type 4C (old JIS standard = JIS B2401:2005).
