irBoard is an iOS app that allows the iPad to be used as a touch panel for factory automation (FA). By connecting to a PLC and reading/writing to devices within the PLC, monitoring and operation can be performed. It is compatible with PLCs from Mitsubishi Electric, Keyence, Omron, and Yokogawa Electric that support Ethernet connections. It also supports Modbus/TCP. Typically, when performing maintenance on the back of equipment, it may require two people to operate the touch panel, but with the portability of the iPad, it becomes possible for one person to make adjustments while operating the panel at the adjustment points. Additionally, it can function as a barcode reader using the built-in camera, and it can monitor a webcam. Multiple devices can be monitored with a single iPad (by switching between them). By simply installing irBoard on the iPad, you can manage everything from drawing to operation.
