Modified stainless steel cart - made portable for use in multiple locations!
At a machinery manufacturer, equipment that is jointly owned by multiple departments was being moved every time it was used. Since the equipment is heavy, moving it is very labor-intensive and time-consuming. They consulted us to see if there was a way to make it easier to move for more flexible operations. Issues: 1. The equipment is expensive, so it is shared and operated by multiple departments. 2. It is being moved on a cart, but due to its weight, loading and unloading require multiple people. 3. There is a risk of dropping or tipping the equipment when taking it off the cart, which could damage the equipment and pose a danger of injury to the workers.

basic information
Although it was possible to design and manufacture everything from scratch for the cart frame, we modified a standard cart to keep costs down. We received an order for three units, but we proposed to first produce one unit, which would be used less frequently, to identify areas for improvement. The second and third units were then designed and manufactured to be more user-friendly based on the identified improvements. Key Points: 1. A mirror-finished stainless steel plate was attached to the top of the standard cart. A frame for mounting equipment was created and secured to the cart. 2. The mounting frame structure was designed to minimize the occupied area. 3. To improve maneuverability (minimum turning radius), the cart was equipped with four swivel casters, and a hammer lock was installed as a cart fixation mechanism. 4. An adjustable bolt was separately installed at the bottom of the cart as a height adjustment mechanism (casters with adjusters become fixed, worsening maneuverability) ... for the first unit. 5. During the operation of the first unit, it became clear that it was moved frequently, so the second and third units were designed with a structure that included a lifter with casters (pantograph lift) and a table. When moving, simply raising the lifter releases the fixation. After moving, once the position is determined, lowering the lifter secures it in place.
