We received an inquiry from a customer who manufactures diapers and other sanitary products regarding an issue with the guide rods (SUSφ30×350L) on the transport line for preventing scratches. 1. They were using fluororesin tape for scratch prevention, but as it wears down, there is a risk that wear particles may adhere to the transported items. 2. Static electricity builds up on the tape, causing the non-woven fabric of the transported items to fray, resulting in defective products.

We proposed a blast treatment that combines wear resistance and slip properties. The blast treatment has a hardness of around HV1000, making it highly resistant to wear. Additionally, its foamy surface has a small contact area with transported items, providing excellent slip properties and preventing static electricity, thus overcoming the issues associated with fluororesin tape.
